SyNic is not derived from the tobacco plant. It is manufactured using Zanoprima’s patented enzymatic process, which features pharmaceutical-grade quality systems in a facility approved by the USFDA and other regulatory authorities. The process uses green chemistry principles (e.g., water as solvent, high concentrations, and renewable resources) to reduce environmental impacts. The cost of this exceptionally pure synthetic nicotine is competitive with that of ultra-high quality tobacco-derived nicotine.

SyNic is manufactured in accordance with Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), and is fully trackable and traceable. The minimal amount of waste from the patented Zanoprima production process is biodegradable.

SyNic is manufactured in a cGMP compliant facility, approved by The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as well as other leading international regulatory bodies including: the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) (of the United Kingdom); the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA); the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (ANVISA) and South Africa’s Marketing Code Authority.
Zanoprima has submitted a US drug Master file (DMF) to the US FDA, a Tobacco Product Master File (TPMF) to the US Center for Tobacco Products (CTP) at the FDA, and is in the process of submitting an application for a Certificate of Suitability (CEP) to the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines (EDQM) and the U.K. Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

GREEN CHEMISTRY
Zanoprima’s “Green-Chemistry” approach uniquely uses an enzyme catalyst to establish the S-stereochemistry, and uses sustainable environmentally friendly materials and processing conditions.
Both this and the transformation of the intermediate(S)-nornicotine into (S)-nicotine are conducted in water without organic solvents. Once the (S)-nicotine is produced, it is extracted using a very safe organic solvent which is completely recovered and reused in the process. The overall process works at a high concentration andso generates very little waste,
