Our purpose

We are passionate about using scientific research and innovation to:

  • Advance the transition towards cleaner and more satisfying products for the delivery of nicotine.

  • Enable the transition towards a clean nicotine future to address the single most preventable cause of poor health and death worldwide. Tobacco use kills eight million people a year and causes considerable healthcare costs)

  • Create sustainable and environmentally responsible alternatives to cigarettes and to toxic smokeless tobacco products.

We innovate to create a more sustainable and healthier planet.

“Provision of the nicotine that smokers are addicted to without the harmful components of tobacco smoke can prevent most of the harm from smoking.”

The UK Royal College of Physicians’ publication, "Nicotine without smoke: Tobacco harm reduction", describes in depth why “in the interests of public health it is important to promote” e-cigarettes, NRT and other non-combustible nicotine products “as widely as possible as a substitute for smoking.”

HEALTH & SOCIETAL IMPACT

“People are more likely to stop smoking for at least six months using nicotine e-cigarettes than using nicotine replacement therapy or e-cigarettes without nicotine.”

The latest Cochrane review, “Electronic cigarettes for smoking cessation,” found “high certainty evidence” of vaping’s benefits for quitting smoking. It also notes that evidence suggests no difference in risks (adverse events) for nicotine ECs compared to NRT and to non-nicotine ECs. Cochrane reviews summarize the best evidence for improving health outcomes, and are internationally respected.

“Nicotine is the chemical in tobacco that fosters addiction. However, toxic constituents other than nicotine, predominantly in smoked tobacco, produce the disease resulting from chronic tobacco use.”

Balancing consideration of the risks and benefits of e-cigarettes,” by15 past presidents of the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco, makes a powerful case for the “continuum of risk of nicotine products” and the distinction between health risks of combustible tobacco versus nicotine.

Zanoprima’s innovations enable the world to move towards a clean nicotine future which is environmentally friendly and sustainable.
